João Paulo Costeira is an Associate Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from IST. He is a senior researcher with the Signal and Image Processing Group (SIPg) and has served as its group coordinator, where he conducts research in computer vision and robotics. He is a former co-director of the Dual Ph.D. Program in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Robotics within the Carnegie Mellon | Portugal program. He also served as the Scientific Director of the Carnegie Mellon | Portugal initiative from 2014 to 2018.
