Getting around
Lisbon is serviced by a robust transportation system, build up on metro, bus, trams and urban trains. Here we list the main means of transportation and how you can use them.

Cycling | Lisbon has 128km of dedicated cycle lanes. Discover the network at ciclovias.pt! You can ride them using the public bike system, GIRA. It has a fee of only 2€/day, including unlimited trips up to 30 minutes (+2€ per 45-90’). Download the app and get a bike here! |

Bus/tram/lift | Buses cover the entire city, complementing the metro network for less dense areas accessibility. Trams and lifts allow you to discover the city hills and Belém. Discover the network at Carris website. |
Tickets
Trips can be payed with contactless cards, being charged the same amount as for the board ticket. However, you can buy a Zapping card (0,50€ per card, one card per person) at the Metro machines and top it up with 3, 5 or 10€. Using this card, the individual trips are cheaper on buses and trams.

As an alternative, you can buy a 24 hour card (at the Metro machines) valid for the whole network (metro+bus+tram+lifts), for only 7,00€.
