Juan P. Fonseca-Zamora is a PhD student enrolled in the 4-year integrated PhD and MSc programme in Data Analytics and Society at the Leeds Institute for Data Analytics (LIDA).
He previously completed an MSc in Transport Planning and the Environment at the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds, and worked in industry as a transport planner for three years. During this time in consultancy, he developed a strong interest in the use of open resources to better understand and address transport challenges.
His doctoral research focuses on developing transferable and scalable methods for traffic estimation on residential roads using open data. His research interests include open data, open source tools, spatial analysis, sustainable transport, and transport planning and modelling.
